You are probably not looking at the battery vent hose, but at the airbox drain. The crankcase breather hose (starts on the right side at the top of the headcover, under the tank and chrome cover) vents to the airbox. Gas/oil/goop sometimes runs down to the vent and out the bottom. Normal, unless you're getting a ton of it. But, like Polar Pilot said, it takes a while for things to get back to normal after sitting a while. Leaks and heat are not uncommon (lubricants work their way out of certain places, and gaskets and seals dry and shrink) but most should rectify after a little circulation is restored.
